Western tech very active, at least in defense of Ukraine, during wartime: Starlink for communication & internet, ICEYE with satellite images or Palantir Technologies with data processing, cybersecurity protection by Microsoft, hosting by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle or Google.
- The satellites from Iceye, which claims to be the largest private provider with 21 satellites, deliver images with a resolution of up to one meter.
- The security of communication also includes protection against cyber attacks. Ukraine has expanded IT security in government agencies and critical infrastructure since the annexation of Crimea and the start of the war in the east of the country in 2014. She receives support from international IT companies such as Oracle and Google.
- In Ukraine, Microsoft goes well beyond what they deliver to ordinary customers. To protect Ukrainian IT systems, the company also uses new technologies that are not yet fully developed – and therefore cannot be expected of business customers. This involves, for example, the detection of conspicuous activities in the networks using artificial intelligence.
