2021 is the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly.
Ukraine includes 34 types of economic activity that can be divided into such industries as visual arts, performing arts, literature, publishing, audio and audiovisual art, design, fashion, new media and IT (export exceeded $5 billion in 2020), architecture, advertising, marketing, public relations, libraries, archives and museums, folk arts and crafts.
According to the report by Trade+, International Trade Research Center, Kyiv School of Economics, in 2019, the gross value added of creative industries amounted to 117.2 billion hryvnias (or 3.95% of total value-added). And we believe – it’s only the first step to further development via increasing global competitiveness of the Ukrainian creative industries!
