The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a decree approving the list of indicators of the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) in Ukraine, as well as the procedure for collecting and exchanging data on indicators based on the EU Methodology.
The order will provide the prerequisites for tracking progress towards a digital economy and comparing Ukraine’s own path with the EU’s digital economies, — the press office of the Ministry of Digital Transformation reports.

“The goals of the Ministry of Digital Transformation are in line with the digital goals that the EU plans to implement by 2030. Ukraine is already one of the leaders of digital transformation in the region, but we continue to work to improve results in all areas of digitalization,” said Valeria Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for European Integration.
The DESI is published annually by the European Commission and measures the progress of EU member states in achieving the goals of the EU’s Digital Decade 2030. The key elements of the DESI are in line with the EU’s digital goals: secure and resilient digital infrastructure, digital skills, digitalization of business, and digitalization of public services.
The process of Ukraine’s inclusion in the DESI depends on the ability to regularly provide the European Commission with the necessary statistical data collected in accordance with EU requirements. Ukraine’s inclusion in the DESI will help realize the country’s digital competitiveness potential and facilitate integration into the EU’s Digital Single Market.
Within six months of the adoption of the decree, the Ministry of Digital Transformation will develop methodological recommendations for compiling indicators based on the EU Methodology.
