The conference began with a keynote from  Uliana Pereskotska, Board Member of the Ukrainian-Swiss Business Association, who delivered a speech on “Development of the Ukrainian startup ecosystem: achieving growth and sustainability”, emphasising the challenges faced by the ecosystem today and highlighted the importance of building bridges between Ukraine and Switzerland, especially in light of the war. The presentation emphasised Ukraine’s vast IT potential, which is recognised for its strong  IT education and community. The talk stressed the growth and success of Ukrainian startups, both within the country and abroad, focusing on sectors like Martech, Business productivity, Fintech, and, more recently, military technology.

Michael Chobanian, the Founder and CEO of Kuna and president of the Blockchain Association of Ukraine, highlighted why Kuna stands out among the competition. “Firstly, we are always the first to stay updated with the latest developments in the market. Secondly, Ukrainian startups are widely recognised for their exceptional expertise and preparedness. This makes Kuna confident in the potential of the local startup ecosystem. Lastly, with the current complexities in Ukraine, it is vital to showcase to the world the products and innovations that truly deserve global attention. Kuna is determined to be at the forefront and sponsoring this movement.”

The official delegation also visited the most modern Google office in Zurich, where one of the leading development centres of YouTube is located.
