Amidst the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, characterized by intense combined attacks using various types of missiles and attack UAVs, the deep-tech company Resq Pods has developed a life-saving capsule designed to provide individual protection during disasters such as fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, and missile strikes.
Addressing a Critical Need
The project aims to address the critical issue of protecting critical infrastructure and energy sector workers who cannot leave their workplaces during attacks. “Resq Pods was created in response to the military aggression in Ukraine and the consequences of the earthquake in Turkey,” commented Kyrylo Meshkovskyi, co-founder of the company. “These events once again demonstrated the devastating and tragic consequences that missile strikes and natural disasters can cause.”
Technological Innovation for Survival
The rescue capsule, or “pod,” is a double-walled metal structure filled with a special polymer, providing the ability to withstand the collapse of a multi-story building, ensuring reliable protection and the opportunity to await rescue for the person inside.
The 75×75 cm capsule, with a height of 220 cm and a weight of 400 kg, is designed considering the architectural features of buildings and is adapted for placement inside residential and non-residential premises. The product design also takes into account human physiological characteristics and the provision of basic human needs.

- Ventilation system with filters for air exchange and purification from smoke, dust, and other hazardous factors.
- Automated system for analyzing carbon dioxide and smoke levels, which automatically activates the ventilation system in critical situations.
- Beepers (sensors) to signal rescuers the location of the capsule.
- Radio for communication with rescue services and search teams.
- Food and water supplies to support human life.
Tested and Proven
Each variation of the capsule is tested, modernized, and undergoes necessary trials. The current fourth iteration of the development has withstood a fall from a height of 2 floors, explosions with a total complexity of 40 kg in TNT equivalent, and has passed fire and high-temperature tests.
B2B Focus and Future Plans
Resq Pods’ deep-tech solution is targeted at the B2B sector and can be used at facilities and locations of enterprises in the logistics and transportation, wholesale trade, energy and agricultural sectors, industrial enterprises, and more. The company plans to set up serial production of capsules, expand the project team, and seek external investments for further development in Ukraine and abroad.
“Resq Pods capsules are not a monolithic product,” added Kyrylo Meshkovskyi. “Our development has many ways of adaptation and prospects for solving requests of various formats and complexity. We are constantly modernizing our product and strive to expand the ways of its operation depending on the requests and needs of users.”
Collaboration and Expansion
The company is currently in negotiations on cooperation with representatives of big business, critical infrastructure, and the state. The project team is also focused on establishing cooperation with Ukrainian government institutions to provide solutions for individual protection of the population.
