Ukraine and the UK will sign a digital trade agreement. The agreement will remove trade barriers and provide appropriate support to Ukrainian businesses that have suffered because of the war.
- Among the main areas of future cooperation: financial technologies and payment systems, open digital markets, technical cooperation.
- The new agreement will create an appropriate digital infrastructure and regulatory environment, creating a single window for traders and government authorities and leveling restrictions on cross-border data transfer.
- As well, the agreement provides for the growth of trade in services, proper protection of personal data, and improved access to public resources managed by Ukraine and Great Britain.
- Ukraine will become the second country in the world to sign a digital trade agreement with the UK. Previously, such an agreement was concluded with Singapore.
Economic Minister Yuliya Svyridenko: “The agreement on digital trade is a new type of agreement that will open up new opportunities for Ukrainian and British business through modern technologies. It also should reduce bureaucratic procedures and promote electronic payments, introduce digital signatures and electronic contracts.”
