Results of the Drone Hackathon “Anti-Shahed”: Three Ukrainian innovators will receive $1 million each for implementation and scaling of developments against enemy UAVs

On June 24-25, the second annual Drone Hackathon “Anti-Shahed” took place. During the event, 50 teams presented projects for representatives of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine. Based on the assessments, three winners were chosen who presented the most effective projects.

Each of them will receive $1 million for the implementation and scaling of technological developments that will help fight enemy Shaheds, — the press-office of The Ministry of Digital Transformation informs.

In war, it is important to understand what is happening on the battlefield and offer technological solutions. We see how the situation on the front is changing towards technologies. How important are UAVs, satellite communication, and situational awareness systems. The picture of the battle is changing. Quick decisions need to be made and effective ideas need to be implemented. It is now critically important to create alternative systems to counter Iranian Shahed. We have cool cases with the Army of drones, when not only foreign drones were supplied to the front, but also domestically produced UAVs. Similar measures are needed with the development of Ukrainian air defense systems,” — said Vice-Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

Winners of the Drone Hackathon “Anti-Shahed” will sign contracts worth $1 million. The funds will be used for the fastest possible implementation of the development that will destroy enemy drones in the Ukrainian sky. New technologies will help combat Iranian Shaheds without wasting resources of air defense forces.

Drone Hackathon “Anti-Shahеd” is implemented under the initiative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Infrastructure as part of the Army of Drones project and aimed at finding innovative and effective solutions to combat enemy drones.
