As the European venture ecosystem prepares for the 10th anniversary of Viva Technology, the conversation is shifting from mere attendance to strategic integration. Scheduled for June 17–20, 2026, in Paris, the summit remains the continent’s premier stage for startups to validate their technology at a global scale.

The 2026 edition has officially opened its most critical entry points: the Global Awards and the Startup Challenges. For founders, these programs represent more than just visibility—they are a direct pipeline to €350 million in potential funding and exclusive pilot programs with Fortune 500 companies.
The Awards: Two Key Pathways Currently Open
While VivaTech organizes five major awards categories each year, the application window is currently focused on two flagship programs. These awards are specifically designed for startups that are exhibiting or plan to exhibit, turning a booth into a platform for international media and VC attention.
1. Tech for Change Award This recognition is built on the conviction that impact and economic value are inseparable. In 2026, the program will recognize 500 impactful startups across three core areas: Environment, Society, and Health.
The Process: From the initial 500, a jury selects a Top 30, and eventually 6 finalists who will pitch live on the Pitch Studio Stage.
The Reward: The Grand Winner receives a free startup corner for VivaTech 2027, a pitch on the main stage during the Global Innovation Awards Ceremony, and extensive coverage in Les Echos.
2. Innovation of the Year (In Partnership with TechCrunch) This award identifies the company that truly defines the “future of tech” through creative ingenuity and market-disrupting potential.
Eligibility: Startups must have fewer than 100 employees and be founded in or after 2020.
The Reward: The winner secures a spot at VivaTech 2027 and a prestigious invitation to TechCrunch’s Startup Battlefield 200, a significant milestone for any startup eyeing the US market.
Editorial Note: While the Female Founder Award, AfricaTech Award, and Next Startupper Award remain central to the VivaTech ecosystem, their specific application windows will open in the coming months.
Startup Challenges: The Corporate Procurement Engine
The Startup Challenges are the tactical heart of VivaTech. These are open innovation competitions where global corporate leaders and public institutions present specific business bottlenecks, inviting startups to solve them. Success here often leads to immediate commercial deals, pilot projects, or strategic investments.
Current Open Challenges for 2026 include:
LVMH (Innovation for Excellence): A search for startups redefining the luxury experience through omnichannel solutions and sustainability.
KPMG (Agentic AI): Focused on autonomous AI agents that can transform customer experience and operational efficiency.
OVHcloud (Impact 2035): Looking for infrastructure and cloud technologies that prioritize digital sovereignty.
McKinsey & Company: Focused on “Rewiring Europe’s ambition” and technological sovereignty.
Startup Germany: Seeking next-gen tech for a more resilient and digital future.
GE Vernova (Energy Circularity): Tackling the circular economy within the electrical equipment and energy sectors.
Nestlé Vital (Smart Aging): HealthTech solutions aimed at improving the quality of life for an aging global population.
Caisse des Dépôts (Finance of Tomorrow): Dedicated to digital assets and the future of blockchain-based finance.
Crédit Agricole (Sustainable IT): Building digital training solutions with a sustainability focus.
JCDecaux (The Real-World Voice): Bridging digital brand presence with physical urban environments.
Critical Deadlines and Selection Criteria
The jury evaluates applicants based on three non-negotiable pillars: Innovation, Scalability, and Viability. They are looking for solutions that are not just original, but technically and economically ready to be deployed at scale.
