Empowering the Next Generation: UNIT.City and Partners Launch PolyTECH EDU to Bridge Academia and the Tech Industry

Even amid the ongoing war and the existential fight for its independence, Ukraine continues to invest relentlessly in its most critical asset: human capital. While sirens and disruptions remain a daily reality, the country’s innovation ecosystem is actively opening direct pathways for university talent to enter the global technology landscape.

To bridge the traditional divide between academic theory and high-growth industry demands, innovation park UNIT.City, supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, has officially opened registration for PolyTECH EDU – an intensive five-week educational program designed to help university students take their first structured step into a tech career.

Running from September 7 to October 9, the program provides an online launchpad accessible to students from every region of Ukraine.

Practical Tracks Tailored for Tomorrow’s Innovators

PolyTECH EDU is designed as an interactive bridge where university coursework meets hands-on tech industry experience. Over five weeks, participants will collaborate with domain experts, attend masterclasses and workshops, and solve real-world business challenges across four core tracks:

  • Tech & Engineering: Hands-on product fundamentals, systems thinking, and technical architecture.

  • Artificial Intelligence: Practical applications and state-of-the-art tools transforming global workflows.

  • Creative Thinking & Marketing: Go-to-market strategies, growth mechanics, and storytelling for modern digital products.

  • Career & Self-Development: Navigating the tech job market, personal branding, and communication skills.

Because the program is hosted entirely online, students can participate regardless of geographical location or physical proximity to major tech hubs.

Building a Global Tech Career at Home

A primary driver behind PolyTECH EDU is giving students clarity on real-world industry requirements while they are still in school. Instead of relying solely on textbooks, participants learn the workflows, product logic, and problem-solving mentalities currently used by leading tech companies.

“Ukraine needs a new generation of engineers and tech specialists, but for this to happen, young people must see clear prospects for their professional development”, emphasizes Pavlo Mykhailiuk, Development Director at UNIT.City. “PolyTECH EDU gives students the opportunity to go beyond the academic curriculum, gain practical experience, collaborate with industry experts, and better understand their own career paths. Our task is to show that a technological future can not only be imagined, but actively built in Ukraine”.

The broader goal is unequivocal: showing young talent that they do not need to leave Ukraine to launch an impactful, globally competitive career in technology.

Part of the Broader PolyTECH Project

PolyTECH EDU serves as the academic cornerstone of the PolyTECH Project – a nationwide educational and innovation initiative connecting technical and polytechnic universities with market leaders.

Beyond PolyTECH EDU, the comprehensive PolyTECH Project ecosystem includes:

  • PolyTECH Dual: Integrating practical industry immersion with formal curricula.

  • Regional PolyTECH Bootcamps: Concentrated skill-building sprints across Ukraine.

  • PolyTECH Summit: The flagship gathering uniting students, founders, and educators.

Last year’s edition demonstrated significant traction across the country, engaging over 50 higher education institutions and more than 1,200 students.

Industry Leaders Backing Ukrainian Talent

Organized by UNIT.City alongside the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the initiative has mobilized major corporate and ecosystem partners:

Together, these partners are strengthening the ties between higher education and active business, opening doors to mentorship and internships for Ukraine’s emerging engineering class.
