Global Innovation Vision of Ukraine 2030: The Ministry of Digital Transformation Published a Report and Proposals

In December, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and its partners presented the Global Innovation Vision of Ukraine. It outlines the key areas of the country’s development in the domestic and foreign policy contexts. The document was submitted for public discussion until January 15, 2024. The government team has processed all the submissions and prepared a report on their results.

The discussion was attended by IT companies, foundations, NGOs, universities, agencies, and research centers. The proposals included, in particular:

  • The importance of a clear action plan for the education development strategy: in particular, edtech and STEM education
  • De-shadowing of Ukraine’s economy using blockchain
  • Medtech, development of regenerative medicine and biotechnology in particular
  • Focus on the development of human capital and science
  • Inclusion of space technology innovations in the priority sectors of innovation (SpaceTech)

The finalized draft act will be sent to the central executive authorities for approval. After public discussions are completed, the vision will be approved at the Cabinet of Ministers, and it will become an official state strategy. The key steps of the strategy will be to accelerate economic growth, identify priority industries for Ukraine, strengthen the innovation ecosystem, and create the most favorable conditions for business development.
