Techosystem, in partnership with the Ukrainian Startup Fund, has released the updated “Top 100 Ukrainian Rising Startups” catalog, showcasing the most promising Ukrainian startups shaping the future of innovation. This initiative highlights the unique strengths and investment appeal of these companies on a global stage.

The first edition of the catalog, “Rising UA Startups: Resilience Edition,” was published in 2023 and featured 100 startups and 49 scale-ups selected by a jury of 30 experts. The 2024 edition, titled “Top 100 Ukrainian Rising Startups,” builds on this foundation with a renewed focus on showcasing the dynamism and potential of the Ukrainian tech scene.
Selection Process
A panel of 50 leading experts from the Ukrainian tech ecosystem evaluated startups based on innovation, growth potential, and contribution to the ecosystem. Key selection criteria included:
- Ukrainian origin: At least one founder must be Ukrainian, over 30% of the team must be Ukrainian, and the company must pay taxes in Ukraine.
- Startup stage: Founded less than 10 years ago, focused on innovation, with a scalable business model.
The rigorous selection process involved an initial pool of over 300 startups, which was narrowed down to 200 and then finally to the top 100.
Key Insights from the Catalog
- Founding dates: Most startups were founded between 2021 and 2023, with a peak in 2021.
- Funding stage: 70% of startups are at the Seed stage.
- Industry focus: Healthcare, business productivity, marketing and media, education, and finance are the most common sectors.
- Business models: B2B dominates (55.1%), with approximately 30% of startups combining different models.
- Monetization: Subscription models are most prevalent (75.6%), followed by transactional models (23.3%).
- Revenue: 43.8% generate between $100,000 and $1 million in annual revenue, while 35% earn less than $100,000.
- Target markets: Ukraine, the EU, and North America are primary markets.
- Funding sources: Grant funding is most common (67.5%), followed by foreign angel investors (42.5%) and foreign venture capital firms (37.5%).
- Investment amounts: 77% have raised over $250,000, with the largest share (28.36%) raising between $250,000 and $499,999.
- AI adoption: 77.5% of startups utilize AI technologies in their products.
