SET University launches Master’s degree programs in Cyber Defense, and Computer Science and Innovation Engineering.

Cyber Defense, and Computer Science and Innovation Engineering are interdisciplinary educational programs based on actual market needs. As part of the study, students will take an in-depth look at blockchain technologies, AI and ML models, cyber defense, leadership, and project management basics, etc.
The academic programs are designed for managers and team leaders who want to strengthen their expertise and innovators who wish to build their technology projects. The programs are also suitable for software and hardware developers along with non-technical specialists who want to structure their current knowledge and skills.
«Today, more than ever, Ukraine needs new technological talents. The demand is only growing as the country is on the verge of a large-scale brain drain. At SET, we believe that the key factor is the creation of high-quality educational opportunities in Ukraine. The growth of Ukrainian startups and the development of such technological areas as cyber defense, blockchain, AI, and ML are important for Ukraine’s further recovery. For that reason, we are launching Master’s programs with a focus on these areas. We believe in the opportunities and potential they offer,» — comments Iryna Volnytska, President of SET University.
Program’s Structure
«When we were developing the programs, we understood the challenges that Ukrainian education has faced in recent years. There is a lack of high-quality online materials, adaptation to real market needs, and a focus on practice. We took European models as a basis, combining fundamental theory that enables professionals to be resilient to changes with up-to-date knowledge from teachers with the academic and practical experience from Europe and Ukraine. The result is a hybrid online program with a focus on entrepreneurship and a comprehensive understanding of technology and business processes,» — adds Maksym Pochebut, Academic Director of SET University.
The program will last a year and a half and consist of 16 educational blocks. The program is modular, with each participant having a list of 11 compulsory subjects and five additional subjects to choose from. These can be cyber defense, AI, and blockchain, regardless of the program. Students can create an educational plan based on their own needs.
According to the University, the study is planned to be combined: lectures and workshops will be held online, and some conferences with networking events will be held offline. Students can access educational materials online on the LMS platform in this format. In addition, live lectures and seminars with tutors will be held online several times weekly. The entire educational process is designed to allow students to combine university studies with full-time work comfortably.
Both Master’s programs include a separate track focused on entrepreneurship and technological leadership. Students can implement all the knowledge gained while developing their startup within the SET Accelerator program. Upon successful acceleration and feedback from mentors, the founder will be able to present their product to potential investors.
The Master’s programs also include grants from donors and partners that will fully cover tuition fees. Details and conditions under which applicants will be able to apply for a scholarship to be announced later. Admission to the programs will be under the standards and requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science.
