Supporting Ukrainian Business and Attracting Investments: The Ministry of Digital Transformation and DIGITALEUROPE Sign a Memorandum

The Ministry of Digital Transformation and the European trade association DIGITALEUROPE have signed a memorandum. We are expanding cooperation and continuing the Laptops for Ukraine project.

DIGITALEUROPE is one of the largest associations representing more than 45,000 technology companies in Europe. Now it will help Ukrainian companies participate in digitalization and cybersecurity projects. It is about attracting investments to build Ukraine’s digital infrastructure and develop Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses, particularly in the AI sector, — the press-office of the Ministry of Digital Transformation reports.

“Cooperation with DIGITALEUROPE is an opportunity for Ukrainian entrepreneurs to integrate even more into the EU market. We already have experience of cooperation with the international association DIGITALEUROPE within the Laptops for Ukraine project. From now on, the partnership is moving to a new level. I am grateful for the readiness to support the driving force of the Ukrainian economy – small and medium-sized enterprises,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology, Minister of Digital Transformation.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation has been cooperating with DIGITALEUROPE since December last year. The partnership began with the Laptops for Ukraine project. Its goal is to collect 50 thousand units of equipment for Ukrainian regions affected by the war.

As part of the project, DIGITALEUROPE has created a network of hubs for collecting equipment in 15 European countries. About 25 thousand pieces of equipment have already been collected, and the first thousand devices arrived in Ukraine in early September. In addition, thanks to DIGITALEUROPE, we are negotiating with Amazon to transfer a large batch of tablets and e-books that will be used for the needs of the educational system.

“Ukraine’s digital resilience is an inspiring example. By using cloud solutions, the Ukrainian government has protected critical services and data for citizens, ensuring uninterrupted communication for the safety of citizens. I am meeting with members of the Ukrainian government and representatives of the Ukrainian digital industry to strengthen our cooperation in the coming weeks and months and to clearly reaffirm our continued and unwavering support,” said Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl, Director General of DIGITALEUROPE.
