Amidst the backdrop of relentless missile strikes from the aggressor nation, Ukraine’s spirit of innovation shines through. The Science-to-Market Accelerator program recently showcased nine teams that have successfully transformed their scientific ideas into viable business ventures.
The 20-week program, a collaboration between the Ukrainian Startup Fund, SET University, and Berkeley Haas Entrepreneurship, aims to commercialize scientific research, fostering job creation, increased tax revenues, and enhanced competitiveness for the Ukrainian economy.
The nine participating teams underwent intensive training through workshops and mentorship sessions, culminating in a Demo Day where they presented their groundbreaking solutions. These innovations span diverse sectors, from agribusiness to artificial intelligence:
- Dodomu: A science-based SAAS solution for online diagnosis of psycho-emotional conditions.
- BrownC-Rec: A liquid water-soluble sorbent for the remediation of soils contaminated with heavy metals and radionuclides.
- Critical HydroMinerals Calculator: Assists in evaluating critical mineral extraction projects from reservoir waters of oil fields.
- Sofia by VeraNet: Employs artificial intelligence to transform business decision-making processes.
- WildFiresUA by YourAirTest: Models harmful emissions from factories and fires for air quality monitoring.
- VitalisLacto: A probiotic starter for homemade dairy products.
- SolarInt: A high-efficiency solar concentrator and thermal battery for providing homes with heat and electricity.
- MetersFit: A platform for assessing and tracking human physical fitness.
- Parostok Pre-Sowing Seed Treatment: A technological installation for increasing seed yield and resistance using microwave technology, recommended by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.
