Three Years of Hardened Steel: Ukraine Forges a Technological Arsenal for Victory

The dawn of February 24, 2022, was shattered by the explosions of Russian missiles, heralding the start of a full-scale invasion. The world held its breath, expecting Ukraine’s swift collapse, but instead witnessed the unwavering spirit of a nation ready to fight for its freedom. Three years later, Ukraine has not only endured, it has transformed the war into a crucible for innovation, forging a technological edge capable of reshaping the course of history.

Technological Breakthrough: Ukraine’s Missile Shield

A key focus of development has been the missile complex. Thanks to the Brave1 program, 19 Ukrainian companies have received support to develop short, medium, and long-range missiles. These companies are already demonstrating their might on the battlefield. “Palianytsia” and “Peklo” drone missiles, as well as the “Ruta” missile, are just the first signs of Ukraine’s missile-building prowess. “Palianytsia” is already in mass production, “Peklo,” with a range of 700 km and a speed of 700 km/h, is decimating the enemy, and “Ruta,” with its unique combination of speed and maneuverability, is a true nightmare for the occupiers.

“Palianytsia” flies, “Ruta” flies, “Peklo” flies. Ballistics are in preparation,” confirms President Zelenskyy, adding that the Ukrainian missile program is demonstrating significant successes.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the range of Ukrainian missiles has already reached 1,700 km and continues to increase.

Technological Superiority on the Battlefield: Drones and EW

In addition to missiles, Ukraine is actively developing the production of drones and electronic warfare (EW) systems. Over three years, Ukraine has seen the emergence of over 1,500 companies specializing in Defense Tech, including the production of drones and EW equipment.

2.2 million FPV drones and 100,000 long-range UAVs are just numbers; behind them lies the titanic work of Ukrainian engineers and volunteers who are creating a technological advantage on the battlefield.

Investments and Grants: Supporting the Technological Leap

Brave1 has issued over 470 grants totaling over UAH 1.3 billion and has attracted $40 million in private investment. Furthermore, Ukrainian startups and companies are actively attracting investments from foreign funds and private investors who see Ukraine’s powerful technological potential. These investments are stimulating the growth of the Defense Tech market, where new solutions are constantly emerging.

Three years of struggle have transformed Ukraine into a forge of technological weaponry, where the steel of the nation’s indomitable spirit is being tempered.

I am proud to live and work in Ukraine in these really decisive times. It is true, that we have an unprecedented boom in Defence tech technologies here. In our case the phase “innovate or die” is not an exaggeration. Plus we have a giant reality check on all conventional weapons. And we test all the innovations on the battlefield. And while we have a severe struggle right now also on the diplomatic front, war, started by russia in Ukraine has clearly shown, that democracies should have teeth and elbows to be able to defend the values and principles they are built on also on the battlefield. And better do it with technologies, then risk human lives of our defenders. Our current challenge is to scale the production, make it a mass one. We are ready to share our experience. Come, invest and co-create with us. And deep thank you for your support, that allowed us to rewrite and keep rewriting history to build a better and more just world. Glory to Ukraine, Glory to Europe, Glory to Democratic countries.
