Ukrainian defense startup OSIRIS AI has secured funding from a US-based investor to accelerate its flagship product, the OSIRIS DroneOS.

While the value of the investment has not been disclosed, the company confirmed the OS is production-ready and has entered a closed testing phase. The platform is currently being integrated and tested on hardware from two unnamed Ukrainian drone manufacturers.
The “App Store” Model for UAVs
The company’s vision, according to CEO Roman Onyshchenko, is to create a unified ecosystem for both UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and C-UAV (Counter-UAV) systems.
“We are building a unified ecosystem… uniting AI solution developers, microelectronics manufacturers, and users into a global collaborative network—similar to how Android united the mobile world”, Onyshchenko noted.
In practice, this translates to an “app store” model. A manufacturer using standardized components can install OSIRIS DroneOS to gain immediate access to a library of mission-ready applications. These apps range from basic signal processing to complex AI-driven tasks like object recognition and targeting.
The startup clarified the value proposition: “Effectively, you buy the hardware, install the OS, and have a set of tools and mission scenarios ready to use”. This application library will be updated by both the OSIRIS AI team and moderated third-party developers.
