The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center INNOV8 is thrilled to announce the second call for applications to its 5-week practical online program, Science2Business. This exciting project aims to empower Ukrainian scientists to transform their groundbreaking research into commercially successful ventures.

The program focuses on attracting innovative scientific ideas from twelve key areas, including biotechnology, agrotechnology, space technology, chemistry, healthcare, and dual-use technologies.
Selected scientists will embark on a five-week journey of online workshops and lectures, receiving mentorship from experienced experts. They will gain the essential knowledge and skills required to launch an innovative business and navigate the intricacies of bringing ideas to market.
“We’ve just graduated our first cohort of 50 scientists, ready to further develop their projects in energy, space technology, healthcare, robotics, and other Deep Tech-related fields. We now invite scientists to join our second cohort. Science2Business is a fantastic starting point for building a business around scientific innovations,” said Olena Skyrta, curator of Science2Business.
“The program is short, flexible, and boasts an interesting selection of trainers and materials. I particularly enjoyed the sessions on design thinking and pitching, especially due to the insightful feedback from mentors. I highly recommend this program to fellow scientists looking to gain experience in business organization,” shared Oleksandr Lyubimov, founder of Falco (Boryviter) Mission Computer and participant in the first Science2Business cohort.
The Science to Business program features an impressive lineup of speakers:
- Polina Lishko, Professor of Cell Biology and Physiology at Washington University in St. Louis and MacArthur Fellow, will share her insights on building a science-based startup.
- Kasper Suomalainen, a startup consultant from Aalto University (Finland), will conduct a masterclass on creating competitive pitch decks for scientific ideas.
- Bożena Kelestrin, Professor and Head of Student Engagement at Warwick Business School and Director of the MSc Management of Information Systems & Digital Innovation course, will explain how to apply design thinking to business development.
- Bohdan Khomych, Head of Product at SoftServe and responsible for commercialization in R&D, will discuss the specifics of the scientific development market and opportunities for scientists.
Upon completing the program, participants will be equipped to implement innovative solutions, services, and products, with the potential to secure funding from Seeds of Bravery.
Applications for Science2Business are open until September 30th, 6:00 PM, at the following link: https://innovate.com.ua/science2business/
Participation in the program is free of charge.
Science2Business is part of Seeds of Bravery and is implemented by INNOV8 in partnership with Aalto University, EIT Health, and the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship. The initiative is made possible with the financial support of the European Union through the European Innovation Council.
