Get ready to witness a breakthrough in rehabilitation technology emerging from Ukraine. ADVIN GLOBAL, an innovative MedTech company, is tackling the debilitating challenge of phantom limb pain head-on with its groundbreaking VR simulator, VRNOW. Having successfully deployed the system in leading Ukrainian medical institutions and secured a national patent, the company is now strategically preparing its expansion into the European market.

Forget adapting existing tech – ADVIN GLOBAL proudly states they built VRNOW “entirely from the ground up”, navigating the full cycle from concept to a certified, patented medical device. This dedication culminated in Ukrainian Patent No. 158352, awarded in 2024, marking one of the first significant IP achievements for Ukraine’s burgeoning product-focused MedTech sector in VR rehabilitation.
So, what’s the magic? VRNOW leverages the principles of neuroplasticity. It creates an immersive virtual environment where patients can ‘see’ and ‘control’ their missing limb. This visual and sensory feedback, driven by signals from remaining muscles, cleverly retrains the brain, reducing phantom pain, improving prosthetic control, easing anxiety, and ultimately accelerating a return to active life.
“This patent isn’t just legal protection; it’s validation of our unique, innovative approach”, states Valerii Soroka, Product Lead at ADVIN GLOBAL. “It’s a first for a Ukrainian IT company in VR medical rehabilitation, opening doors to international markets”.
The impact is already tangible on the ground. Over the last six months, VRNOW has been integrated into seven major Ukrainian medical facilities, including military hospitals and renowned children’s hospitals like “Okhmatdyt”. More than 500 patients have undergone rehabilitation using the VR simulator. The demand is growing, with over 40 leading centers, such as the prominent “Unbroken” rehabilitation facility, expressing intent to adopt VRNOW.
The results speak for themselves. Vladyslav, a servicemember who experienced the therapy, shared: “The phantom pain was intense… I couldn’t sleep or eat. If something like this had been available earlier… it would have been much easier. It genuinely helps a lot with phantom pain”.
Echoing this sentiment of local innovation making a global impact, CEO Artem Chygyrynskyi, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos 2025, noted: “We saw Ukraine’s potential not just as a consumer, but as a world-class developer of medical technologies… Our experience proves Ukrainian specialists can create innovative products meeting international standards”.
With European certification processes underway, ADVIN GLOBAL is poised to enter a market ripe with opportunity. While the EU rehabilitation tech sector is growing, sophisticated VR solutions like VRNOW are still relatively nascent, giving this Ukrainian-developed product a strong chance to carve out a significant niche.
