Ukraine’s NORDA Dynamics Lands $1M to Scale War-Tested AI Drone Technology

In a major boost for Ukraine’s burgeoning defence-tech sector, NORDA Dynamics, a developer of autonomous drone control systems, has successfully closed a $1 million funding round. The investment underscores the global confidence in Ukrainian technology forged on the modern battlefield.

The round was led by Varangians, a Swedish investment firm launched in 2025, with significant participation from Ukrainian funds Angel One and MITS Capital, the United Angels Network syndicate, and the US-based Unpopular VC. This capital injection is set to fuel an expansion of production, team growth, and the development of next-generation products aimed at making UAVs even more autonomous.

Founded in 2024, NORDA Dynamics has relentlessly focused on solving one of the most critical challenges in modern warfare: operating drones effectively in environments where GPS is denied and traditional communication channels are jammed by intense electronic warfare (EW).

“For us, this is more than just money; it’s a confirmation that our war-tested technologies have a global future in the markets of our European and overseas partners”, said Nazar Bigun, co-founder and CEO of NORDA Dynamics. “We were among the first in the world to scale autonomy modules to tens of thousands of combat applications in a modern war, and now we are ready for the next stage”.

At the heart of NORDA’s success are its flagship products. Underdog, a universal autonomy module, is described by Bigun as “the most widespread system for autonomous UAV terminal guidance in the combat zone today”. Its effectiveness, affordability, and ease of integration make it ideal for mass deployment. Another key innovation, StableLink, provides powerful azimuth and altitude stabilization, allowing drones to hold their position with precision even without GPS, a critical function for autonomous relay and mining missions.

The investors have taken note of this unique battlefield expertise. “We have reviewed many strong defence-tech companies in Ukraine, and the NORDA team is one of the best”, stated Pär Lager, CEO of Varangians. “The company is solving a key challenge on the battlefield and has the team and competence to continue creating innovative solutions”.

This latest funding round marks a significant leap from the company’s earlier successes. As TechUkraine has previously reported, NORDA Dynamics first began to gain serious traction after securing its initial seed funding from Angel One. This new, larger round is a testament to the team’s rapid progress and the critical, ever-growing demand for their battlefield-proven solutions.

With the new funds, the company plans to intensify its R&D efforts, expand its team of highly skilled engineers, and scale its entire product ecosystem, further solidifying Ukraine’s position as a global leader in defence innovation.
