Gateway to Europe: Ukrainian Startup Fund Opens Calls for Major Tech Summits in Moldova, Greece, and France

For Ukrainian founders, the “information gap” between local innovation and global capital is closing, but the window of opportunity is narrow. As the European venture ecosystem recalibrates for 2026, strategic presence at international summits has shifted from “nice-to-have” to a critical survival and growth tactic.

Visualizing the Gateway: Created in synergy by the TechUkraine editorial team and generative AI to represent the momentum of Ukrainian innovation scaling into the European ecosystem.

The Ukrainian Startup Fund (USF), in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and international backers, has announced a series of open calls for national delegations to three premier tech events. Here is the roadmap for startups ready to bridge the gap from Kyiv to the global stage.

1. Startup Moldova Summit 2026: The Deep Tech Frontier

Moldova is rapidly emerging as a regional hub for testing and scaling AI and Deep Tech solutions. The Startup Moldova Summit serves as a concentrated meeting point for over 2,000 participants, including 50+ active investors looking for the “next big thing” in CEE.

  • The Offer: 3 Ukrainian startups (Deep Tech/AI focused) will receive full coverage of travel and participation costs via the EU4Innovation East project. An additional 3 relocated Ukrainian startups will receive free passes.

  • Key Benefit: Selected founders will participate in panel discussions (requires fluent English).

  • Strategic Fit: Ideal for early-stage Deep Tech teams seeking regional partnerships.

2. Panathenaea 2026: Conquering the Balkans

For the first time, the Ukrainian tech ecosystem will have a dedicated National Pavilion at Panathenaea, the largest tech assembly in the Balkan region. Hosted at the historic Zappeion Megaron, this event is the primary gateway for startups targeting Southern Europe and the Mediterranean.

  • The Offer: 8 startups will be selected for the Ukrainian Pavilion. Benefits include dedicated booth space, 3-day team passes, and access to exclusive investor side-events.

  • Requirements:

    • Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 6 or higher.

    • Registered in Ukraine with a clear Ukrainian identity.

    • Ready for immediate scaling and investment rounds.

  • Deadline: April 17, 2026 (23:59)

3. VivaTech 2026: The “Champions League” of European Tech

Location: Paris, France | Date: June 17–20, 2026

Viva Technology remains Europe’s largest startup and tech event. Since 2022, the Ukrainian Pavilion at VivaTech has been a powerhouse for securing European R&D partnerships and Series A/B interest.

  1. The Offer: Up to 10 startups will join the national delegation. The top 3 performers will be granted the prestigious opportunity to pitch live on the VivaTech stage.

  2. Requirements:
  • Strong focus on scaling within the EU market.
  • Active R&D or innovative operations based in Ukraine.

  • Consistent Ukrainian branding across all platforms.

  1. Strategic Advantage: Direct access to global corporations and top-tier French VC funds.

  2. Deadline: April 21, 2026 (23:59)

  3. Apply via: USF Portal

The Bottom Line for Founders

The global tech landscape in 2026 rewards high-visibility and physical presence. With the support of EU4Innovation East, the European Union, and the Government of France, these delegations provide the institutional backing necessary to convert a pitch into a term sheet.

The question remains: is your TRL ready for the scrutiny of a Paris or Athens stage, or is your AI solution the missing piece for the Balkan market? The deadlines are approaching—now is the time to secure your spot in the European narrative.
