Modern warfare is shifting at a pace that legacy defense supply chains can rarely match. As drone saturation and signal-jamming dictate the terms of engagement on the frontline, the ability to rapidly iterate electromagnetic warfare (EW) technology has become the ultimate strategic differentiator. Recognizing this shift, German defense tech titan Rohde & Schwarz has joined forces with Ukrainian frontline innovator Infozahyst to co-develop and market systems that represent the frontier of modern electronic defense.

At the AOC Europe exhibition in Helsinki, the companies signed a milestone Memorandum of Partnership. The strategic alliance is designed to bridge world-class Western engineering with direct, hard-earned battlefield data, creating a powerful pipeline for next-generation mobile EW and counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (C-UAV) systems.
Bridging Frontline Experience and Engineering Excellence
The framework of the agreement outlines a collaborative structure for the joint promotion, adaptation, and marketing of three highly sophisticated product lines:
High-power jamming systems designed to disrupt adversary communications and control links across critical frequencies.
Counter-UAV (C-UAV) solutions built to detect, track, and neutralize autonomous aerial threats.
A multifunctional mobile EW platform, showcased at the event as a tracked armored vehicle model equipped with integrated tactical jamming and signals intelligence (SIGINT) suites.
By utilizing a tracked mobile platform, the partnership addresses a critical gap in current theater dynamics: the urgent need for highly maneuverable, heavily protected EW units capable of moving alongside first-line combat formations to provide real-time electronic cover.
Strict Factual Integrity: The Executive Perspective
The synergy behind the alliance underscores a broader industry trend where Western prime contractors look to Ukrainian tech firms for rapid operational validation.
“The synergy between INFOZAHYST’s operational expertise and our world‑class and combat-proven EW solutions creates a powerful combination that meets the rapidly evolving needs of modern forces. Together we can deliver systems that are not only technologically superior but also fully tested in realistic combat conditions”. – Dr. Thomas Bohne, Vice President of SIGINT/EW at Rohde & Schwarz.
For Ukraine’s defense ecosystem, the partnership serves as a validation of its deep-tech maturity and ability to scale innovations internationally.
“This partnership marks a significant step forward for Ukrainian defense innovation. By integrating German engineering and manufacturing excellence with our frontline experience, we will accelerate the fielding of EW capabilities that protect our allies and contribute to global security”. – Iaroslav Kalinin, Chief Executive Officer of Infozahyst.
Expanding the Geopolitical Footprint
Munich-headquartered Rohde & Schwarz – which generated €3.16 billion in net revenue for the 2024/2025 fiscal year and employs over 15,000 people globally – has been systematically deepening its footprint within Ukraine’s tech ecosystem. Beyond Infozahyst, the German firm has also established collaborative channels with other local players, including a recent reconnaissance systems initiative with Pegasus Arms.
As NATO forces accelerate their electronic readiness programs, alliances like the one between Rohde & Schwarz and Infozahyst are poised to redefine defense procurement. The integration of rapid software iterations based on daily combat feedback into industrialized, high-compliance manufacturing lines might just become the new standard for how the West builds for the future of conflict.
Will the traditional, decade-long defense acquisition timelines survive in an era where electronic countermeasures change every few weeks? The success of this German-Ukrainian alliance will likely provide the answer.
