A unique hackathon focused on hardware solutions for Ukraine’s recovery is set to take place on October 25th. The “Hardware for Recovery” hackathon aims to leverage technological innovation to address the critical challenges facing the country in the aftermath of the war.

The hackathon invites technology companies, startups, and teams with hardware solutions to participate in developing innovative solutions across four key areas:
- Energy Resilience: Developing sustainable and eco-friendly energy systems to ensure uninterrupted power supply in crisis situations, with a focus on renewable energy sources and decentralized networks.
- Medical Technologies: Creating solutions for rehabilitation and inclusivity to support the physical recovery and social reintegration of people affected by the war.
- Robotics: Developing autonomous or remotely controlled robotic solutions for a wide range of post-war recovery challenges, including construction, agriculture, logistics, and environmental applications.
- Own Challenge: Proposing any other solution that addresses the critical needs of Ukraine’s post-war recovery, focusing on any aspect of reconstruction, resilience, or community support. This could include robotics, agritech solutions, and more.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with leading experts in the field, including:
- Olena Shershun: Associate Partner at Civitta, an expert in innovation ecosystems and funding for deep-tech startups.
- Taras Barshchovsky: Founder and CEO of MetaliX, recognized in Forbes NEXT 250.

- Teams with Their Own Solutions: Teams with hardware experience and a first prototype, seeking expert support and resources to move from prototype to finished product.
Prizes
The hackathon offers significant prizes for the top three teams:
- 1st Place: 50,000 UAH
- 2nd Place: 30,000 UAH
- 3rd Place: 20,000 UAH
The Ukrainian Startup Fund will also provide the winners with $25,000 in AWS cloud service credits.
How to Participate
Interested teams can apply by completing the online application form by October 22nd. Confirmation and further instructions will be provided within 3-5 business days.
Important Note: The hackathon will be held offline, so at least two representatives from each team must be physically present at the location to present their solution to the jury.
