Education and Innovation Conference

On June 3, 2023, the Ukrainian co-founding IT company Genesis held the first Innovating Education conference for representatives of educational institutions. The theme of this year’s conference is “Interaction between the state and IT business”.

The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with the Product IT Foundation for Education and brought together more than 1,500 educators who actively implement digital technologies in education.

Current Situation

During the panel discussion, the speakers discussed the areas of cooperation between the state, educational institutions and the product IT business in order to build a sustainable partnership in education and economic growth of Ukraine.

“Genesis is a Ukrainian company, 90% of our employees and managers have remained in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Our future, like the future of most Ukrainian companies, depends on the quality of education and the level of graduates of our universities. In order to compete with the world’s greatest leaders, you need to have an education, the level of which is not inferior to the world. I am grateful to the state, which invests a lot of time and effort in its development, but I am convinced that companies should also invest in this direction,” stressed Volodymyr Mnogoletniy, co-founder and CEO of Genesis, during the conference.

“While the war continues in Ukraine, the world does not stand still and is actively developing. The value of human capital grows many times. That is why developing a new path for education is our important challenge and task. Now, together with the Ministry of Education team, we are forming this strategy. The main emphasis is on the introduction of technologies and innovations in education, digitalization and debureaucratization. This will allow bolder and faster changes to be implemented so that our children acquire knowledge that meets the challenges of today. And every talented Ukrainian was able to realize himself at home, in Ukraine,” — commented Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Education Strategy For future

During the discussion, the participants of the conference also discussed the use of innovative technologies in education for the development of students and modernization of the educational process.

“While building a new education strategy, we study every detail in detail. If we change a minimal element, we have the effect of influencing millions. We invest in education — we have an economic effect on the entire country. Our goal is a competitive education that will provide the maximum for every Ukrainian. Business and education have a lot of space for cooperation for this goal,” — said Yevhen Kudryavets, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The event was also attended by representatives of the online education studio EdEra and leading Ukrainian higher education institutions, in particular, KPI named after Igor Sikorskyi, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy National University, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University and Kyiv School of Economics (KSE). The Innovating Education conference will take place every year and will become a platform for the exchange of experience between business, educational institutions and the state with the aim of developing an innovative country where technology and IT education play a key role.
