On July 14, 36 clusters and public organizations signed the Manifesto on the Transition to Industry 5.0 in Kyiv. The event took place as part of the first Ukrainian conference on Industry 5.0, which was attended by over 300 people in offline and online formats.

The conference speakers discussed the principles and values of the fifth industrial revolution. Among them were representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Economy, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opinion leaders, innovators, clusters, scientists, as well as a representative of the European Commission, a representative of the state agency Industry 4.0-5.0 from Poland, and the founder of the Czech Industry 5.0 movement. The participants of the conference discussed the state and challenges of the transition to smart industries in Ukraine, the state of government policies, presented their own projects for the development of smart factories and territories, projects for the introduction of a circular economy, retraining of specialists for the transition, familiarization with Industry 5.0 technical standards, etc.
The signing of the Manifesto on Ukraine’s Transition to Industry 5.0 was one of the key events on July 14. 36 organizations (including 25 clusters, 5 universities, regional development agencies, and NGOs) declared their readiness to adhere to the principles in formulating strategies, plans, and projects for post-war reconstruction, restoration, and development of production in the new industrial paradigm of Industry 5.0 (developed by the European Commission). Industry 5.0 is based on principles that change the way businesses operate and much better balance and improve their response to the challenges of social, environmental, and economic development, rather than focusing only on increasing the profits of individual businesses. The Manifesto was prepared by a working group of experts of the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance (UCA), which is the organizer of this event. The conference is organized by the Association of Industrial Automation Enterprises of Ukraine (AIEU), the leader of the national Industry 4.0 movement.
The first step towards a better society has been made!
The signing of the Manifesto is a significant event not only for UCA or APPAU, but also for all sectors and communities of industrial hi-tech. We started in a similar way in 2016, when the national movement Industry 4.0 in Ukraine was launched (based on the 4.0 Charter), and in 2019, when the Industry4Ukraine platform was created and also had its own Manifesto. The significant difference this time is the significant dominance of Ukrainian clusters, their much greater consolidation among themselves and with the expert community. This network is becoming a real market force capable of implementing the slogans of smart industries – and this is our hope.” — said Oleksandr Yurchak, CEO of UCA, CEO of APPAU
The UCA and APPAU invite other business associations, SMEs, government agencies, leading universities, analytical agencies, and large enterprises to consolidate in a common movement to move to Industry 5.0. To do so, just sign the Manifesto online here.
