In a powerful display of Ukrainian resilience and ingenuity, SET University, in partnership with the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund, has announced the winners of its SpaceTech Bootcamp: Reimagine Ukraine. This four-day event brought together talented individuals to develop projects utilizing satellite data for the reconstruction and strengthening of Ukraine.

“Our goal was to gather talented and motivated specialists to create projects that use satellite data for the recovery and strengthening of Ukraine’s resilience,” said Iryna Volnytska, President of SET University. “During the four days of the hackathon, participants worked on innovative ideas aimed at improving the agricultural sector and efficient energy system planning. We are proud of the opportunity to create initiatives that contribute to the recovery of our country and thank all teams for their contribution to this important project.”
The Bootcamp focused on leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Satellite Data to rebuild Ukrainian resources. Participants engaged in mentorship sessions, lectures, and hands-on project development.
“The Bootcamp was a unique opportunity for participants not just to discuss ideas or draft projects, but also to receive support for further development,” shared Sergey Tokarev, tech investor and co-founder of SET University. “We expect that the best developments will become the basis for large-scale and successful startups capable of making a real contribution to the country’s recovery. This program is an important step towards the revival of Ukraine through innovation and technology.”
The Bootcamp received 80 applications, from which teams were formed. The winners include:
- ID_AI: Developed a precise solution for planning a distributed energy system using satellite and map data, starting with the community of Slavutych as their first customer.
- Solar Cats: Analyzed solar energy potential in Slavutych, developed a solution to increase the city’s energy efficiency, and created the basis for software to process data, visualize project stages, and generate an interactive map.
- Damage Detectors: Created a geospatial layer of dairy farm locations for Ukraine using satellite imagery and the YOLOv5 neural network.
The winners received valuable prizes to further their projects:
- ID_AI: Won the opportunity to take any micro-degree program at SET University.
- Solar Cats: Gained the chance to continue working on their project in the Open Data Accelerator, competing for a grant fund exceeding 5.8 million hryvnias.
- Damage Detectors: Received two months of free access to EOS Data Analytics, a platform for searching, processing, and analyzing satellite data.
