As Ukraine enters its eleventh year of fighting for independence, technological innovation is proving to be a crucial lifeline for the nation. Ukrainian startup Bavovna.AI, a developer of autonomous navigation systems for unmanned vehicles (UVs), has announced the successful closure of its seed funding round, raising a total of $2.7 million. This investment, secured amidst the ongoing conflict, demonstrates the unwavering commitment of both Ukrainian entrepreneurs and international investors to advancing technologies critical to Ukraine’s defense and future.

The late-seed round, totaling $1.7 million, was led by Presto Tech Horizons, with participation from Network VC, Allied VC, and other private investors. This Western support is instrumental in enabling Ukrainian innovators to transform their ideas into reality and contribute directly to the defense effort.
Bavovna.AI’s AI-powered technology enables UVs to operate in GPS-denied and electronic warfare (EW) threatened environments without relying on maps or vehicle communication. This dual-use technology addresses critical challenges faced by both military and commercial UV operators in air, ground, and underwater domains.
The funding will enable Bavovna.AI to:
- Scale production in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, in compliance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
- Enhance existing product lines and explore new development avenues in both defense and commercial sectors.
Presto Tech Horizons, the lead investor, brings expertise in deep-tech and dual-use technologies, providing Bavovna.AI with not only capital but also access to a vast network of clients and partners in both commercial and defense sectors.
This funding milestone follows Bavovna.AI’s selection in 2023 as the first Ukrainian startup to participate in the US Air Force Labs Masschallenge program, a government-funded initiative supporting miltech projects.
