The agreement, signed during the Munich Security Conference, was witnessed by high-ranking officials including the Ukrainian Minister of Strategic Industries, the Danish Minister of Defense, and the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The partnership will focus on several key areas:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Establishing a service center in Ukraine for the maintenance and repair of Weibel radars already deployed in the country.
  • Joint Development: Collaborating on the development of new radar technologies, leveraging Ukrainian battlefield experience and Weibel’s expertise.
  • Joint Venture: Exploring the potential for a joint venture to manufacture radar systems in Ukraine.

“This new partnership will not only address the urgent needs of the Armed Forces today, but also helps the further development of our radar industry,” said Oleg Gulyak, Director General of Ukrainian Defense Industry. “It is about the possibility of developing new radar stations that combine experience gained on the battlefield with advanced technologies.”

Weibel Scientific offers a wide range of radar systems, from small arms fire detection and drone detection radars to systems capable of tracking ballistic missiles and monitoring space objects. This collaboration is expected to significantly enhance Ukraine’s ability to monitor its airspace and defend against aerial threats.
