Kyiv, Ukraine – The future of medicine was on full display in Kyiv on September 12 at the final event of Generation H 2.0, an initiative by SET University in partnership with Tokarev Foundation. The event marked the culmination of a rigorous 10-week mentorship program for eight of Ukraine’s most promising healthtech startups, all poised for scaling and investment.

From AI-powered physician assistants and biodegradable menstrual products to biotech solutions that block cancer metastasis, the finalists showcased technologies with the power to save lives and redefine modern healthcare. After a tense pitch battle, Touch Vision emerged as the winner, securing a $10,000 grant to fuel its product development.
From Idea to Global Impact
Launched in 2024, Generation H has quickly become a cornerstone of Ukraine’s healthtech ecosystem, supporting 30 startups through idea generation, bootcamps, and mentorship. The 2.0 phase shifted focus to growth-stage startups ready for investment. The 2025 program is also co-financed by the European Union through the EIT for Higher Education initiative, embedding Ukrainian startups into a broader European context.
“We support many tech programs, but this one is special because it gives birth to ideas capable of saving and changing human lives”, emphasized Sergiy Tokarev, founder of Tokarev Foundation and co-founder of SET University. “Generation H is about people who see problems in healthcare and act: engineers, doctors, researchers. We are building this program to give their ambitious ideas a powerful start”.
The event was opened by key figures who set an inspiring tone, highlighting Ukraine’s potential on the global healthtech stage. Maria Karchevych, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine for Digital Development, underscored the strategic importance of innovation. “Digitalization and innovation are not just modern trends; they are an opportunity to be more effective, implement solutions faster, and counter the challenges of today’s world”, she stated.
Anastasiia Deieva, Executive Director of the Tokarev Foundation, added, “Our winner receives more than just a grant for clinical trials or MVP development. They join an inspiring community of Ukrainian startups and get a chance to present their solution to the world”.
The Pitch Battle: Eight Visions for Tomorrow’s Medicine
The heart of the evening was the Pitch Battle, where the eight finalists presented their groundbreaking solutions:
- ReadyVein: A device for high-precision, real-time vein visualization, designed to eliminate failed venipunctures and improve medical efficiency.
- Progalit®: An AI-powered software for treating kidney stone disease, connecting doctors and patients, which has already shown 90% efficacy in trials.
- Tayra.AI: A voice-based medical assistant that automatically creates and structures doctors’ consultation notes.
- EndurePath: A mental health recovery app using micro-exercises and gamification to help users quickly regain emotional control.
- Peony: Ukraine’s first biodegradable menstrual pads, safe for both health and the environment.
- Hovanka: A “personal architect for the mind” that combines psychoeducation, exercises, and AI to help people overcome burnout and anxiety.
- M Shield: A biotech startup developing a drug to halt cancer metastasis, aiming to make cancer a manageable disease.
- Touch Vision: (The Winner) A portable system for the rapid detection and training of visual-spatial impairments, crucial for patients recovering from brain injuries and strokes, as well as for military rehabilitation. The device can identify up to 85% of impairments in just nine minutes—issues that often go unnoticed as 76% of clinics lack the necessary tools.
A Resounding Victory and a Bright Future
The jury’s decision to award Touch Vision the $10,000 prize was a powerful endorsement of their technology’s potential to address a critical gap in rehabilitation and diagnostics.
The event confirmed that the Ukrainian healthtech sector is not just surviving but thriving, producing world-class solutions. Eugenia Klepa, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at SET University, concluded the evening with a forward-looking announcement.
“This year, we saw startups at various stages, showcasing incredible industrial diversity: software and hardware, biotech and mental health, AI and trending femtech solutions. It was fascinating to witness their progress over these three months. And I am thrilled to announce that we will have a third round of the Generation H initiative in 2026. So, wait for the moment and apply”!
