Among nearly 3,000 global applicants, the AI-driven prosthetics innovator proved that Ukrainian resilience is matched only by its engineering brilliance.

LISBON — Ukrainian innovations continue to dominate the global conversation. The Ukrainian delegation made a resounding statement at Web Summit 2025 in Lisbon, confirming the nation’s status as a premier hub for Deep Tech solutions.
In a fierce competition that saw 2,725 startups from around the globe vying for attention, Ukrainian startup SYLA emerged as a standout, fighting its way through to the final pitching competition. Out of the thousands of applicants, only 105 reached the stage, and a mere 10 startups were selected to present their solutions in the main arena.
SYLA was one of them.
Innovation with a Purpose
SYLA represents the best of “tech for good”. The company is developing an AI-powered bionic knee prosthesis designed for individuals with lower-limb amputations. By leveraging artificial intelligence, SYLA is not just restoring mobility; they are reimagining the quality of life for amputees.
Their presence in the Top 10 attracted significant attention from international investors and top-tier media, serving as undeniable proof of Ukraine’s engineering capability in the complex Deep Tech sector.
A Legacy of Success
This achievement is part of a growing pattern of excellence. Ukraine is no stranger to the Web Summit main stage. SYLA follows in the footsteps of previous Ukrainian success stories like Bliss Brain and S.Lab, who also secured Top 10 positions in past years. This consistency sends a clear message to the world: Ukrainian startups deliver world-class quality, year after year.
Fueled by the Ecosystem
Behind every great startup is a strong support system. In August 2025, SYLA was awarded a $25,000 grant from the Ukrainian Startup Fund (USF). This strategic support is crucial, enabling developers to scale their game-changing products and unlock new markets.
As the tech world looks for the next big thing, Ukraine stands ready—turning bold ideas into life-changing realities.
