The Ukrainian-Estonian defense tech startup is set to revolutionize drone interaction with a new software-hardware ecosystem, backed by heavyweights from the US and Europe.

The landscape of autonomous defense technology just got a significant boost. Farsight Vision, a startup bridging Ukrainian combat experience with deep tech, has closed a €7.2 million Seed round.
The investment was co-led by the US-based technology giant Axon Enterprise (known for its public safety ecosystem) and the Estonian state fund SmartCap Defence Fund.
The Investment Roster
The round attracted a diverse coalition of international backers, signaling strong confidence in Farsight Vision’s potential to scale globally:
-
Radix Ventures (Poland)
-
Anker Capital (Switzerland)
-
Final Frontier (Denmark)
-
Darkstar (Estonia) — notably, a returning investor reinforcing its commitment.
The Mission: A Complete Autonomy Stack
Founders Victoriia Yaremchuk (CEO) and Volodymyr Nepiuk (CTO) plan to use the capital to transform Farsight Vision from a software-focused entity into a comprehensive platform for spatial data and robotic interaction.

Currently, the company’s solutions allow for real-time conversion of drone imagery into detailed 3D models and orthophotos, featuring object detection and anomaly tracking even in GNSS-denied environments. Their tech is already integrated with battle management systems and is used by over 100 units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
With the new funding, the team aims to unify their portfolio into a systemic solution that autonomizes decision-making at every stage of a drone mission:
-
Reconnaissance flights.
-
Target generation with precise coordinates.
-
Data transfer to loitering munitions.
-
“Last mile” navigation for strike platforms.
“Our goal is to build a near-real-time autonomous system in which the reconnaissance and strike elements are either a single entity or two platforms coordinated with each other within seconds”, Victoriia Yaremchuk explained to Defender Media.
Hardware and Expansion
A significant pivot for the company is the move into hardware development. The team is already testing proprietary modules to complement their software, requiring an influx of specialized talent from around the world.
Geographically, Farsight Vision is setting its sights on the Baltic states, Scandinavia, and the UK, aiming to deepen cooperation with NATO partners.
Industry Perspectives
The lead investors see Farsight Vision not just as a local success, but as a global dual-use solution.
Rick Smith, Founder and CEO of Axon, commented on the strategic importance of the partnership:
“Farsight Vision is building decision-making systems in one of the most demanding environments in the world. We’re excited to support a team whose work in Ukraine is generating insights that can improve how people and autonomous systems operate together globally”.
SmartCap CEO Sille Pettai emphasized the impact on the broader ecosystem:
“Farsight Vision is an example of a company where technology born from a real need is becoming an international dual-use solution for civil and military applications, enabling autonomous systems to be used from threat identification to threat neutralization. For Estonia, this means new technological capabilities and talent in the defence sector, as well as a stronger link between our defence and technology ecosystems”.
TechUkraine Context: A History of Growth
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Farsight Vision has attracted institutional attention. As we reported previously, the startup has consistently demonstrated its value to investors.
In September 2024, the Estonian fund Darkstar invested €600,000 in the company. Back then, the focus was on scaling their battlefield intelligence capabilities. The participation of Darkstar in this new €7.2M round serves as a strong validation of the team’s progress and the viability of their technology in real-world conditions.
