Held in London, The Ukrainian Tech Forum is a convening platform that unites key participants and stakeholders in the Ukrainian technology and IT sectors, along with their international counterparts and Chief Information Officers (CIOs) from major global companies.
The primary objective is to facilitate timely discussions on the opportunities arising as Ukraine’s IT companies integrate further into global markets. The forum serves as a strategic meeting point, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and potential partnerships between domestic and international entities within the tech industry. Topics covered include market trends, technological innovations, investment prospects, and challenges within the Ukrainian tech ecosystem. This event plays a crucial role in advancing the integration of Ukraine’s tech sector into the global marketplace.

This year, TechUkraine was among the invited participants of the forum. Represented by Director Nataly Veremeeva, the organization outlined the great achievements of Ukrainian IT, as well as the main challenges facing the Ukrainian tech sector.
“Ukraine is in the middle of a unique process. We strongly believe that it is technology that will help us win this war. There is a saying “Innovate or Die” and in our case this is not an exaggeration. We do have a huge motivation to think creatively and find new solutions to the problems we are facing, especially in cyber and defense tech. We all know that the Internet was once a military technology that grew beyond the initial application.
We hope the innovation that is happening now in Ukraine will also lead to some global breakthroughs. The uniqueness of our situation is also in the fact that we do not need an expensive test environment, we have the real battlefield to test our innovations. We consider UK as our strategic partner and hope that both countries, as well as EU and other countries of democratic world, will benefit from our technologies. Democracy needs to be able to defend itself, when its borders are crossed, be it territorial, cultural or personal. And technology helps to make it happen. We are inviting UK businesses to consider putting money to our innovation and in this way make our joint victory closer”, — commented Nataly Veremeeva.

The Ukrainian Tech Forum delved into business-critical topics crucial for the growth and transformation of the Ukrainian tech sector. This includes an analysis of the sector’s expansion, charting the growth in the number of companies, IT professionals, and exported services and products. Emphasis was placed on Ukraine’s evolution from Europe’s back office to an independent innovation center. Discussions were also centered around the government’s role in the digital transformation, spotlighting major growth areas such as robotics, AI & ML, IoT, cybersecurity, Big Data & analytics, mobility, and enterprise software. The forum addressed financing growth and the significance of the Venture Capital ecosystem. Additionally, it explored the increasing trend of cross-border M&A deals involving Ukrainian IT firms, both as acquirers and targets, with case studies of successful deals. A spotlight on the UK-Ukraine TechBridge highlighted goals and the rollout, emphasizing opportunities for collaboration and innovation in this dynamic sector.
“The potential of UK-Ukraine collaboration is huge. UK has the knowledge, the capital, the business culture that can be a valuable addition to Ukrainian talents with their freedom and boldness of creation. And this is a very important direction strategically. Tech in Ukraine is one of the pillars of our resistance, since IT companies donate money, participate in developments, support the economy and give jobs to people, thus ensuring stability even in such environments. They also travel, communicate, advocate and help build bridges with countries with the same values. It is also the basis for our democracy and one of key drivers of inner transformation of Ukraine that is happening right now, forming a smart middle class, earning honest money and making sure the leftovers of the old system are abandoned and forgotten. Having such events as this one help to reach the synergy and reach understanding of our key joint goals and next steps”, — Nataly added.
