Night after night, the hum of incoming enemy drones is a grim reality across Ukraine. But from the crucible of conflict, a new breed of defender has emerged. Meet the “Khyzhak shooter”—not another surveillance craft, but a dedicated aerial hunter-killer, engineered with one purpose: to violently reclaim the sky.

This is the embodiment of asymmetric warfare, a direct, kinetic answer to a persistent threat. The Ukrainian defense innovator, 3DTech, has ripped up the conventional rulebook. The “Khyzhak shooter” (Predator) is built around a lethal, under-slung gun pod armed with six 12-gauge cannons. The true innovation, however, is the masterfully engineered recoilless system. Founder Oleksiy Zhulinskyi confirmed that a proprietary counter-charge mechanism completely absorbs the kick from every shot.
“This technology gives us incredible tactical flexibility”, Zhulinskyi explained. “It can deliver a single, precise shot, unleash a rapid-fire barrage, or even fire a simultaneous six-round salvo with absolute stability”. This allows the drone to be armed with a range of standard ammunition, from buckshot—perfect for shredding drone swarms—to slugs for harder targets.
The Khyzhak is already in the field, undergoing intense battle-testing with Ukrainian forces where it’s being honed against common threats like DJI Mavics. But its creators have a more formidable target in their crosshairs: fiber-optic drones. These UAVs, physically tethered to their operators, are impervious to jamming. “They are, however, mechanically vulnerable”, Zhulinskyi notes. “Large components like the fiber spool and battery packs present a perfect target for the Khyzhak’s direct-fire solution”.
Anticipating the ever-accelerating pace of aerial combat, 3DTech has also developed a high-speed variant. A lighter, twin-cannon model pushes the Khyzhak’s velocity to an impressive 150 km/h, ensuring even the swiftest adversaries have nowhere to hide.
The Khyzhak shooter is more than just a weapon; it is a declaration. It’s a symbol of a nation that refuses to be terrorized, channeling its intellect and will into creating the very tools of its salvation. As the drone war rages, this six-barreled hunter sends an unmistakable message: Ukraine’s skies are not free for the taking. They will be defended, decisively and powerfully.
