Ukrainian defense tech innovator HIMERA has officially introduced its new B1 repeater, a robust solution designed to extend the coverage of secure mesh/MANET networks to over 20 kilometers. This latest addition to the HIMERA ecosystem addresses the critical need for stable, long-range communication in contested environments.

The company reports that the B1 is already actively deployed by multiple units, demonstrating impressive field results. In a notable operation in the Northern direction, a network constructed using B1 repeaters spanned over 20 km, providing units at the extreme forward positions with stable, lifeline connectivity. The system’s efficiency is further highlighted by its urban performance: just five B1 units were sufficient to ensure coverage across 80% of a regional center in Ukraine.
“The purpose of HIMERA B1 is to expand the coverage area of the mesh/MANET network and ensure communication stability”, the company stated, emphasizing the device’s role in scaling tactical networks effortlessly.
Key Technical Advantages:
-
Advanced Security: The B1 features symmetric AES-256 block encryption and pseudo-random frequency hopping (FHSS). These technologies significantly complicate interception, detection, and suppression by enemy Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
-
Autonomy: Built for endurance, the device boasts 14 days of autonomous operation, a critical feature that minimizes logistical risks for maintenance crews in dangerous zones.
Building a Secure Ecosystem This release aligns with HIMERA’s broader strategy of delivering a comprehensive, future-proof communication ecosystem. As previously reported by TechUkraine, the company is actively expanding its technological capabilities through international cooperation. HIMERA recently partnered with Canadian quantum technology leader Quantropi to integrate next-generation post-quantum cryptography into its product line—including the new B1 repeaters—ensuring resilience against future cyber threats.
The announcement also follows a major international milestone: the successful delivery of advanced radio systems to a European NATO member nation. The allied partners praised the system for its stealth and resilience, validating the reliability of Ukrainian tech on the global stage.
With the G1 PRO tactical radios already proving capable of maintaining stable connections at distances of up to 45 km, the introduction of the B1 repeater further solidifies HIMERA’s position as a key player in the global defense tech arena, offering scalable solutions proven in the harshest combat conditions.
